Front of House Manager

JOB TITLE: Front of House Manager

LOCATION: Jester King - Austin, Texas

POSITION TYPE: Full-time Salaried Exempt

  19. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint, as well as Google software such as Gmail and Google Drive.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Tasting Room opening, while open and closing duties as outlined in the Front of House Operations Guide

    • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations

  • Ensure consistent high quality customer service and hospitality

    • Make guests feel we are on their side

    • Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests

  • Maintain a clean, safe and well organized environment

    • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness

    • Make certain a professional restaurant appearance, including proper staff attire, and appearance standards

  • Ensure that order taking and point of sale operations flow smoothly

  • Write up disciplinary actions upon FOH employees during management shifts, when required, in accordance with company policies

  • Help ensure full employee and customer compliance with all liquor and public safety laws

  • Assist with menu planning, preparation, and up-keep

  • Ensure that customer facing staff are knowledgeable and friendly

  • See to it that food delivery flows efficiently and that guests receive their orders in a timely fashion

  • Observe FOH operations and provide ideas and input as to how operations can be improved

  • Organize, coordinate, and offer new ideas for on-site special events, under the direction of the General Manager and Leadership Team

  • Attend weekly FOH Department Meeting and attend On-site Events and other special/one off meetings as needed

  • Assist FOH Management Team with the day of management of Public Onsite Events

  • Help host industry guests as needed

  • Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure excellent and effective communication throughout all departments of Jester King

  • Train/educate staff on our policies, procedures, and standards

  • Assist with data entry and management pertaining to FOH operations including key financial metrics

  • Work with department managers to maintain, update, and improve department process guides (SOPs)

  • Assist with keeping staff updated about industry news, local beer news, beer news articles, local beer events, etc.

  • Assist General Manager with conducting performance reviews

  • Perform additional duties as designated by the General Manager
