JOB TITLE: Brewer / Cellar Operator
LOCATION: Jester King -- Austin, Texas
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Salaried, Overtime Eligible
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $58,000–$68,000 annually, depending on experience; overtime eligible; Health, Dental & Vision Coverage; Paid Time Off; Sick Pay; discounts on products/merchandise.
Qualifications
Previous professional brewery production experience necessary, especially in brewhouse and cellar operations.
Friendly/positive attitude / Works well with others.
General knowledge of beer, brewing, and the beer industry.
Hard worker / Willingness to be part of team.
Ability to lift up 130lbs (half barrel keg full weight)
Can tolerate the Texas summer (or winter)
High school or equivalent (preferred)
Forklift certified (preferred)
Job Duties
Perform all or part of the brewing process, including mixing/blending raw materials, water, and ingredients per SOPs
Monitor fermentation (temps/gravities/pH/DO as applicable), track progress, and report/escalate abnormalities
Check the quality of wort/beer before and after fermentation and filtration; conduct sensory evaluation and document results
Clean and sterilize brewhouse, cellar tanks, lines, and processing equipment (CIPs/SIPs), verifying cleanliness standards
Execute standard cellar operations: transfers, dry hopping, carbonation, conditioning, filtration/processing, and tank management
Assist with packaging support as needed (keg cleaning/kegging/canning/bottling/labeling) and staging finished beer
Experience with barrel-aged sour beer production is a plus, including familiarity with barrel cleaning, filling, topping, sampling, transfers, fruit refermentation, blending, sensory evaluation, mixed-culture fermentation, and maintaining sanitation and quality standards throughout long-term barrel aging.
Maintain safe and organized work areas; follow all safety, chemical handling, and confined-space procedures as required
Assist with inventory management and movement of raw/finished goods; complete production-related data entry
Coordinate daily priorities with Production Manager; may work with minimal supervision on routine work and receive detailed instructions on new assignments

Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift 160lbs repeatedly delivering product
Experience using hand trucks, pallet jacks a plus.
Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb during shifts
Can tolerate the Texas summer (or winter)
Knowledge of Austin and the surrounding area a plus.
Experience driving larger vehicles is a plus but is not a necessity.
Ability/comfort level with working solo, as a large part of the day will be spent delivering beer across the Austin metro area.
Willingness to make out of area deliveries to the Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio areas.

Job Duties
Selling Jester King beer
Delivering product to customers per customer invoice.
Rotating stock at on and off premise accounts.
Cleaning draft lines per company policy.
Draft tech troubleshooting.
Operating a forklift
Operating a pallet jack
Loading and unloading of your delivery vehicle
Develop and follow routes and time schedule
Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a cargo van
Complete logs and reports
Maintain ongoing communication with sales reps and sales manager
Keep vehicle organized, clean and tidy.
Inspect delivery vehicle daily looking for anything problematic (low tire pressure, tire wear, dents etc.) and report any abnormalities. Refuel vehicle as needed.
Follow rules and regulations of the road at all times.
