Front of House Employee

JOB TITLE: Front of House Employee

LOCATION: Jester King -- Austin, Texas

POSITION TYPE: Part-time, Hourly, Non-exempt

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Hourly Wage of $7.25/hr plus a part of Tip-Share; Paid Time Off Accrual, 401K, Discounts on Company Products

EXPECTATIONS

  3. Ability to adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Jester King Staff Guide

  4. Prior experience in the service industry, ideally in a brewery setting

  5. Cicerone Certified Beer Server certification within 30 days of hire

  6. Food Handler and TABC certified

  7. Understanding of Arryved POS System a plus

  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse, and evolving environment

  9. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs

  10. Ability to work long hours on your feet

  11. Displays professionalism to co-workers, guests and vendors

  12. Punctual and self-motivated with good time management skills

  13. Dependable with reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform opening and closing duties as outlined in the Front of House Operations Guide

  2. Ensure consistently high-quality customer service and hospitality

  3. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment

  4. Check IDs; verify that person is of legal drinking age (21 years)

  5. Observe Jester King FOH operations and provide ideas and input as to how operations can be improved

  6. Working knowledge of menu (Jester King beer, guest products, culinary program)

  7. Ensure proper use of Tasting Room and Restaurant equipment following all safety protocols

  8. Comes to shifts prepared: pre-shift notes/blogs read, dressed according to uniform

Line Cook - Part Time, Weekends

$500 bonus $20-22 with tips

Approximate total wage range, based on current tip out average*: $20-$22/hr

*Tip out rate is variable and will fluctuate both higher and lower through-out the year. We also follow all federal and state wage regulations, including those governing tip pools.

We are looking for kind, hardworking, skilled, and enthusiastic line cooks to join our crew!

Work Hours:

We are currently operating Wednesday through Sunday with shifts available for prep and service. Current hourly positions are from 1-3 days or 10-29 hours per week. Part-time only positions available.

  • Artisan Pizzas from a wood fired oven
  • Rotating smash burgers and fry specials
  • Quarterly whole animal roasting
  • BBQ and smoked meats program on our 1,000 gallon smoker
  • Many other live-fired options

Event Staff - Seasonal, Part-time

The Hall at Jester King is looking to add to their private event staff roster as we move into event season. We host a variety of private events at the Hall, from weddings to birthdays, company parties and more. Our event staff is responsible for multiple facets of each event, from table setup and layout, to bartending, serving dinner and cleanup. We are looking for dynamic, kind, and

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform event opening and closing duties as outlined in the Event Hall Operations Guide

  2. Ensure consistent high quality client customer service and hospitality

  3. Event staff performs multiple tasks per event - setup, bartending, dinner service, event teardown, cleanup

  4. Maintain a clean, safe, and well organized work environment

  5. Check ID s; verify that person is of legal drinking age (21 years) when required

  6. Maintain a clean uniform, clean professional personal hygiene

  7. Working knowledge of event menus (Jester King beer, guest products, culinary program)

  8. Ensure proper use of Event Hall equipment, following all safety protocols

EXPECTATIONS

  1. Ability to work in a fast paced, diverse, and evolving environment

  2. Prior experience in service industry, preferably restaurant or catering, bartending

  3. TABC and Food Handler Certified

  4. Certified Beer Server certification completed within 30 days of hire

  5. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
