Today we're releasing 2021 Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout with Marshmallows, Toasted Coconut, and Madagascar Vanilla!

This is our second year participating in the Black is Beautiful initiative, started by our friend Marcus Baskerville of Weathered Souls Brewing Co. in San Antonio, Texas. The Black is Beautiful initiative "is a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community and its customers, in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily." Proceeds from our 2021 Black is Beautiful beer will go to the Austin Justice Coalition, The Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation, and Huston-Tillotson University's "New Generation Educators" fund.

We double-mashed with a base of Wildfire Pale Malt from TexMalt, flaked oats and wheat, double roasted crystal, and chocolate and brown malts. We added brown sugar and milk sugar to a three-hour boil. Fermented in stainless steel with English ale yeast. Cold side we added the toasted coconut (toasted in-house) and Madagascar vanilla. We get notes of smores, tiramisu, toffee, devil's food cookies, and 50's diner sundae. 10.5% abv.
