Meet Jester King Artist Katie Ross

Our philosophy at Jester King is strongly rooted in creating a sense of place, by tying our guests experience to a time, place, and people. Whether dining onsite in one of our lands, eating hearth baked Hill Country sourdough bread that you picked up curbside, or enjoying one of our beers purchased from your local retailer, our intent is to build a connection and experience with our guests and community.

We could not foster these relationships without the people who work tirelessly every week at Jester King, from the front of house to our kitchen, our production team to our artists, and many more! With this in mind, we continue our Jester King staff spotlight series so you can get to know our team. This week meet Jester King artist Katie Ross!

Katie just celebrated her fourth anniversary at Jester King at the end of August. With a background as a bartender in the service industry, she started at Jester King as a server in our tasting room, but had been supporting the art department for a couple years.

Find out more about Katie:

What attracted you to working at Jester King?

The culture, the beer.

What does our philosophy of “time, place and people” mean to you?

Terroir of culture.

What do you love most about working at Jester King?

The people who made this place what it is.

What are a few of your favorite Jester King beers? A few of your favorite food menu items?

Das Wunderkind, Fair Voyage, Super Ultra Mega Hyperforce, Rare Corals, Beachtimez Sportzketball. Shishito Peppers, I like how the menu changes frequently.

What else do you enjoy drinking?

Cold Can Crushers, good old grandad old fashioned, some natti (natural) wine, Negronis, Aperol spritz, Various Tiki Cocktails... not much that I don’t enjoy as long as the time is right.

What’s on your bucket list?

Move to some rural Italian town maybe on the water. Start some weird art commune with a studio and small farm. Grow some grapes. Raise some goats and make cheese. Paint during my free time. Travel around the rest of the world as much as possible. Try to stop the exploitation of the working class.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy watching the chickens run around. I like to sketch/paint/switch my mediums up. I was into pottery for a little bit. Been getting into aquaterrariums lately. Learning new things about cooking. Make Korean style fried chicken and various hot sauces/pickles.

I Can’t Live Without:

Hot Sauce baby!
