Today we're releasing a new farmhouse ale refermented with four different types of Texas summer melons -- Watermelon, Casaba melon, Santa Claus melon, and Sugar Kiss melon!
Back in August of this year, we received a wonderful harvest of Texas melons at Jester King. We took the local melons and hand-processed them in-house. The melons were highly aromatic and flavorful and were among some of the best we've worked with. We then took the melons, added them to fresh farmhouse ale, and let them ferment to total dryness. Our goal was to take beautiful, seasonal fruit we're quite fond of, treat it in a very simple, straightforward manner, yet produce results that are unique and dynamic through the "magic" of wild fermentation with native yeast.
Farmhouse Ale Refermented with Texas Summer Melons was brewed in August with well water, malted barley, malted oats, wheat, and hops. It was fermented in stainless steel with our mixed culture, and refermented with the summer melons. It's 5.8% alcohol by volume, unfiltered, unpasteurized, and 100% naturally conditioned.
Farmhouse Ale Refermented with Texas Summer Melons is available for online ordering (https://www.toasttab.com/jesterkingbrewery/v3). We have about 3,800 bottles (750ml/$18). There's no bottle limit. Proxies are welcome (please designate when ordering). Texas law unfortunately doesn't allow us to ship or deliver. It's also available by the glass. Please make a reservation to visit our beautiful setting in the Texas Hill Country on the outskirts of Austin! We're open Wednesday to Sunday (closed Thanksgiving Day): https://www.exploretock.com/jesterkingbrewery.
