We are seeking to make a very important hire for Jester King -- a Market Gardener.

When we started farming a few years back, we focused on perennial systems (fruit trees, hops, and grapes) that will hopefully produce for multiple decades. While our perennial systems remain hugely important to what we seek to do, our focus has expanded to include annual crops and the establishment of a market garden. Simply put, a market garden is a small plot of land (in our case less than an acre) that's used to grow a polyculture of crops for local farmers' markets, community-supported agriculture (CSA) subscriptions, or local restaurants. In our case, our market garden will grow food for our restaurant Jester King Kitchen, our brewery to make beer, and our guests to take home.

We recently began preparing land for our market garden, and seek to have it ready in time for planting early next year. We are seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, hard-working individual to be directly responsible for our market garden program. Our market garden will be equipped with a greenhouse and BCS walk-behind tractor. She or he will join our small farming team consisting of Farmer Sean "Peppy" Meyers and Jester King Co-Founder Michael Steffing.
