We have a new collaboration beer available in the Tasting Room and Kitchen – Urban Mutation. This beer is a barrel aged farmhouse ale refermented with hop-infused honey and was a collaboration with Other Half Brewing in New York.
To make Urban Mutation, we brewed a beer with pilsner malt, spelt, and flaked barley in May of 2017. We added 50 pounds of Good Flow wildflower honey in the whirlpool.
This beer went through primary fermentation in stainless steel, then we added an additional 100 pounds of Good Flow wildflower honey and sent it to neutral oak barrels to continue fermentation.
In January 2019, we racked the beer back to stainless and added Motueka hop-infused Good Flow wildflower honey and let it go through another fermentation. It was bottled and kegged in February 2019 and conditioned until July 2019.
Urban Mutation has an ABV of 10%. It is available by the glass and in bottles to go (750mL/$18). Around 1,800 bottles were made. We anticipate distribution of this beer.
